Jardine's Memorial Christmas Tree Program
Submitted by Jardine’s Funeral Home, Cremation & Tribute Centre
Our Memorial Christmas Tree Program has been giving back to our community since Rob and I purchased the funeral home in 2000. We are proud to offer this program to our families we have served in the past year as well as members of our community. What started out as a small tree at Kawartha Settlers Village with ornamental doves has turned into a stunning tree in our front foyer focused on the spirit and gift of Christmas. In our small and quiet way we invite you, family members and friends, the opportunity to reflect and remember your loved one. We want our ‘Community Christmas Tree' to be an acknowledgement of lives that have been lived and memories that will endure forever.
At this time we would like to invite you to purchase an ornament and a percentage of the proceeds from the purchase donated to Women's Resources - Amy's Next Step Housing in Fenelon Falls. Amy's is an eight unit apartment complex which provides short term housing for women, with or without children, who are rebuilding their lives after abuse or domestic violence.
The ornament that you select will have the name of your loved one attached and will be placed on our “Community Memorial Christmas Tree” located in the funeral home from late November to mid December.
You will then be able to pick up your ornament the week of December 17th – 21st, so that it can be placed on your Christmas tree at home or given as a gift.
We are delighted that we have three ornaments to choose from this year. The ‘Butterfly’and the 'Angel' are hand blown glass and tipped in 22k gold, and the ‘Snowflake' ornament is made of crystal. Please note that the space in which we have to write is limited to one name per ornament. Specific requests might be accommodated but will require some discussion.
This will be our 18th year of involvement with this community partnering, having raised $19,000. In past years we have partnered with Ross Memorial Hospital - Palliative Care Unit, Friends of Lock 34, Fenelon Falls Minor Baseball Association-Playground, Fenelon Falls Firefighters Association, Langton Public Schools Breakfast Program, and the Fenelon Court Resident Council, just to name a few. We feel that in assisting with worthwhile local programs, we are contributing back to our community and caring for our families and friends.
To arrange for your personalized ornament to place on our community tree, please feel free to drop into the funeral home at 8 Princes' Street West, from Wednesday, November 14'h to Friday, December 7th, from 9 - 4:00 p.m. You may also give us a call at 705-887-3130 or 1-866-453-9277 to do so over the telephone.
Sincerely, Rob Jardine & Monica Bertrand-Jardine
