Ask the Coach - Autumn Harvest…

As the summer months end and give way to the fresh advent of Fall, I am reminded how much I love this time of year. It is a time of transition not only in nature but for human beings as well. It is a time of change, reflection and embracing the magic of this transition. Leaves change color, the light of day shifts as it’s lower in the sky, and as nature transforms, we too have the opportunity to reinvest in our own personal nature.

Preparing for the colder months ahead, there are some wonderful practices we can put into our daily lives to remind us of our own harvest.

Here are a few to ponder as the days get shorter and we embrace the majesty of seasonal change.

Embrace the change and use this time for renewal – the change in season is often a good reminder that change is not only inevitable but something for us to be grateful for – we don’t have to wait for Thanksgiving to be grateful for all that we have at our disposal. As the trees shed their leaves to make way for new growth, we too can use this time to release what no longer serves us. It is an excellent time to reassess goals, explore and if necessary, re-set intentions and nourish our minds and bodies.

Look for moments of tranquility – go for a walk-in nature – allow all your senses to be recharged. Feel the crunch of the leaves under foot, feel the crispness and freshness of the air. Indulge in a new fall flavor – pumpkin lattes are back, or simply just be with friends and family.

Best,
