Kids & Teens Workshops:

Kids Making Music in Kawarthas - Saturday May 27th 10am-12pm

In this workshop, children ages 4-9 will explore percussion and rhythm. Percussion instruments and the Home Hardware Orchestra have been provided by the Fenelon Museum. Participants will create simple percussion instruments and perform some “AMAZING” science experiments on how sound vibrations are created and captured in music. Participants are then welcomed to create a simple song using a colour system during this two-hour workshop and perform for parents at the end.

The Stage is Yours - Sunday May 28th 10am-12pm

During this two-hour workshop, youth ages 10-17 will learn how to use a stage, how to perform with and without a microphone, learn how sound equipment works, and ways to manage stage fright. There will be a demonstration of setting up a performance and then the participants will have a chance to try it themselves. Thanks to Fenelon Live for the equipment and demonstrations. There will be anOpen Mic segment where each participant will have the opportunity to perform for an audience.  They can dance, sing, play an instrument, read a poem or story or help with sound for a performance.
