White Lightning Shuttle at KLCLS

Heading to the Kawartha Lakes Country Living Show on Saturday? Catch a ride on the White Lightning shuttle bus!

White Lightning will be picking up and dropping off passengers in Fenelon Falls every 15 minutes or so from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m on Saturday, April 27th. The route starts at the Ultramar gas station on Lindsay Street, heading north to the Ultramar gas station on County Rd 121, before heading back down Colborne Street, around by Murphy’s, and across the bridge to the Community Centre.

Look for White Lightning (pictured here) along the route and flag them down to let them know you’d like a ride. This complimentary shuttle is a simple and relaxing way to enjoy the variety of artisans, vendors, and community groups at the show. Bring your friends and neighbours and make it an outing to remember!

The Kawartha Lakes Country Living Show Returns

With the return of the annual Kawartha Lakes Country Living Show this weekend, I sat down with the event organizer, Tim Wisener, for the lowdown on what show-goers can expect this year.

Town Crier: We are so excited for the show this weekend! Who should attend the Country Living Show?

Tim Wisener: Literally everyone! We have boats, art, furnaces, girl guide cookies, fashion, builders, beer, real estate, pancakes, fishing bait, Tupperware, all manner of fuels, socks, designers, cheese, windows, golf, essential oils, decks and docks of all kinds, appliances, wine, a wedding officiant if you are in the mood, and that’s just to name a few.

TC: What’s new at the show for this year?

TW: Some of our new vendors this year include experts in fishing tackle, winemaking, cheese, housekeeping, landscapers, a ceremony officiant, and essential oils.

TC: What are some must-see vendors or exhibits?

TW: How you are going to heat next winter? be it natural gas, propane, heat pump or any of the other possibilities, now is the time to decide. Speak to the suppliers and get the lowdown on getting set up, and if none of those work for you then best go see the generator folks just in case. Artist Donna Bisschop will be unveiling her mural which will soon find its new home at the curling club.

TC: Will there be any refreshment or food options available for people who attend the show?

TW: Absolutely, On The Locks (while they are under construction at their home base) will have an onsite restaurant, so come with friends, come for the show and stay for lunch.

TC: What’s your personal favourite part of the Country Living Show?

TW: Is it inappropriate if I say Sunday at 4? I enjoy the variety, I like to see the camaraderie among the vendors and the community on display, the whole town and so many of the merchants are out to support each other and the Chamber of Commerce. It is looking like a bit of a soggy and cool weekend so will be a great one to come on in to the show.

Thanks Tim! Be sure to catch this year’s KLCLS running this weekend at the Community Centre.

[Sponsored] Highlands Propane at the 35th Annual Country Living Show

The 35th annual Kawartha Lakes Country Living Show is just around the corner. Hosted at the Fenelon Falls Community Centre, it features over 100 booths filled with products and services specifically targeted to the country home, farm and cottage owner. Long time supporter, Highlands Propane, is back at the show this year and invites you to visit them at their booth.

Founded in May 1991 by owner, Shawn Bellwood, Highlands Propane originally started as a small seasonal business serving local trailer parks. The following fall, they expanded to providing residential propane as well. Now, with the help of their team, Highlands Propane has grown to be the only independently-owned propane facility in the City of Kawartha Lakes and serves residents, tourists, and businesses alike.

Highlands Propane prides itself on its ability to provide their customers with professional, small-town service at economical prices. Whether you are searching for a new propane provider, better delivery or service, Highlands Propane is committed to making sure you receive the best possible experience.
