Vendors Wanted for the Farmer’s Market

With the nice weather approaching it’s time to start getting things underway for the Fenelon Falls Farmers’ Market. We are always looking for new vendors, volunteers, entertainers and committee members to join our enthusiastic community group.

This season we have a few new eye catchers for the community and tourists to look forward to. There will be a street banner across Colborne St. and Bond St. also a large mural will be erected in the lot at Bond and John St. sponsored by the Fenelon Falls Farmers’ Market reflecting both past and present agriculture in the community. This mural is for the community by the community.

In order for a farmers market to operate we must have 51% farm/producers first and then we’re allowed other vendors such as crafters, artisans and prepared foods.  You do not need to own a farm to be a farmer; you just need to be the people who grow/produced the product. For example: Little Billy grows rhubarb, peas, cabbage, beans and apples on his property – that makes Little Billy a farm. A farmer can also be someone who makes their own compost/manure from their farm or grows their own trees or starter plants such as berry canes and bushes.

As a farmers market we and our vendors must always follow the rules and regulations set by the Ontario Health Board, Farmers Market Ontario Association as well as those who allow us to be in place.

Fenelon Falls is a wonderful town filled with great caring people who are always looking out to support different happenings in the area. We greatly thank you all for the support you have shown the farmers market over the years and are looking forward to having another great season with you all.

Our market will run every Friday starting on May 19th long weekend until Thanksgiving weekend, market hours are from 9am -2pm at Bond and John St. where the smiles are always free come rain or shine.
